The Ohio House of Representatives has pushed forward legislation that will require a mandatory prison sentence for sex offenders.
House Bill 405 establishes a mandatory prison sentence for soliciting a child under 13 years old to engage in sexual activity. The bill also stipulates that if an offender is more than 10 years older than a victim, who is 13 to 16-years-old, the offender will receive a mandatory prison sentence. Full Article
The headline is misleading. This is about for people who are busted for soliciting a child to engage in sexual activity, not for “sex offenders”. “Central Ohio’s News Leader” needs to hire someone who can write an accurate headline.

Those people really need to get over themselves. Incarceration is not the answer to everything.
This station loves to exploit registered citizens as much as possible. They are actually the reason this bill was created in the first place. Last year they aired a piece about the “loopholes” of people (or they would say monsters) getting probation over prison, and the state rep was watching it and decided to write the bill. Heaven forbid that a people have actually gotten a “fair” trial or plea agreement.
The only thing that trumps their sensationalism is anything regarding Buckeye football. We could be involved in world war 3, and they will seriously spend more time with what Urban Meyer is eating for dinner than the coverage of WW3.
